At the end of April 2026, Infes, which is a part of Infes Group, prepared its second Sustainability Report. It reviews the company’s 2025 results and its next steps in environmental protection, employee well-being, sustainable construction, innovation, and responsible governance.

 

The first Sustainability Report was prepared in September 2025. It became a reference point that helped the company identify its most significant areas of impact, data needs, and the directions it intends to pursue. The second Report was prepared considerably faster, with more active involvement from managers responsible for individual areas and their teams.

According to Arvydas Markevičius, CEO of Infes, this change shows that sustainability is increasingly becoming part of the company’s day-to-day work.

“The first Report helped us clearly see where we were and what data was still missing. We already had things figured out when preparing the second Report: who is responsible for what, what information we need to collect, and what decisions need to be made. For me, the most important thing is that different teams were involved in this process,” Markevičius says.

When it comes to sustainability in the construction sector, a single person cannot be responsible for it. This work starts with specific decisions at project sites, in procurement, planning, employee safety, and relationships with partners.

In 2025, Infes moved from developing its sustainability strategy to implementing it. The Sustainability Strategy prepared at the end of 2024 was presented to the entire team and integrated into management processes, while department heads began reviewing progress towards sustainability goals on a quarterly basis.

An independent environmental audit was carried out that same year, which became the basis for developing a corrective action plan, appointing responsible persons, and setting deadlines. Digitalization was enhanced by reducing the need for manual operations, integrating existing systems, and developing tailored digital solutions for the company.

Specific attention was also given to employee engagement and competencies. The engagement survey included site workers for the first time; simultaneously, presentations of the results and discussions were organized, and the AČIŪ culture enhancement project was launched. In 2025, three employees completed the Sustainability in the Organization program at the Sustain Academy.

The Report also highlights further preparatory steps in climate change management. Throughout 2025, energy and emissions data were collected and analyzed, the fleet of hybrid vehicles was expanded, and IT solutions that reduce paper use were implemented. At the beginning of 2026, based on the collected and analyzed data, a GHG emissions reduction plan for 2026–2028 was prepared. It presents actions to be implemented across raw materials, energy, and the vehicle fleet.

Another important area was the supply chain. In 2025, the Business Ethics Code was updated to include provisions for suppliers, the integration of ESG criteria into supplier assessments was launched, and supplier information and engagement initiatives were initiated. One of Infes’ goals is to have at least 70% of its key suppliers assessed against ESG criteria.

Regarding the circular economy, the majority of waste was directed to recycling. During the year, 2,627 tonnes of waste were generated, of which 2,421 tonnes were sent for recycling, while no waste was disposed of in a landfill.

Important social and ethical indicators were also maintained: no cases of discrimination, corruption, or bribery were recorded, and no serious workplace accidents occurred.

“In the construction sector, sustainability is increasingly shifting from a matter of image to the ability to manage projects. As requirements become more stringent, it is no longer enough to say that we work responsibly. We need to substantiate this with data, decisions, and clear accountability throughout the entire chain. That is why this Report is important to us. It is not only a summary of the year, but a way to prepare for the next stage. We do not want to merely keep up with change; we want to build a system in advance that enables us to make more informed decisions and set a higher standard of quality,” Markevičius adds.

Infes continues to implement the planned initiatives and aims to ensure that sustainability reporting helps both to assess the past year and more clearly plan decisions that create long-term value for the environment, people, and the business.
